The project
The project comprises case studies that explore forms of collective social action in various urban centres in Greece during the twentieth century. The focus is on formal voluntary associations, but informal forms, such as networks of social intervention and collective subjectivities, are also examined. They investigate the diverse forms of public sociality embedded in these collective actions, i.e. the meaning that participants ascribe to them, and they ask questions such as how do forms of public sociality change and what political form do they take.
